AMBAZONIA CAPITAL PART 2: Let Mamfe Be The New Ambazonia Political Capital - Tapang Ivo Tanku (2019)

After Dr. Nfor Susungi wrote about the new political capital of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia, many have debated in the background, while others are making their opinion publicly clear. In the following article, Tapang Ivo Tanku, has written an article with a 6-point backing on why the capital should be moved from Buea.

Citing similar reasons like Dr. Nfor, he is proposes Mamfe to be the new political capital of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia. Hear him in both audio and text below;

Article By Tapang Ivo Tanku

1. Let Buea be the new economic capital. Buea is naturally endowed with organic soils that could grow just any cash crop. It is very close to the port city of Victoria, the hub for Ambazonia's depleted oil and gas resources. Besides, cash crops from Buea would be easily routed to Victoria for export to international markets through our deep sea port.

2. Mamfe, for geostrategic reasons, is far away from any of the La Republique's cities. Unlike Buea that is vulnerably only 30 minutes away from La Republique, Mamfe has so many barriers that give a buffer to the security and stability of our new political capital. Any attempt by La Republique to move into Mamfe by road would face immediate resistance from our defense forces in Tiko, Mutengene, Buea, Ekona, Muyuka, Kumba, and Konye. By the time they could get into Mamfe, our cabinet members in Mamfe would have taken several security measures and alerts. They cannot be easily whisked out.

3. Mamfe is closer to Bamenda, another opposition stronghold where we could station our Defense Ministry. The distance between Mamfe and Bamenda is only an hour away. Bamenda would also give immediate back-up to Mamfe should there be any emergency. And any attempt by La Republique to violate our airspace could be effectively crushed. The dense forest in Mamfe offers a perfect canopy and blind spot for our snipers to take down any foreign aircraft violating our airspace.

4. Mamfe is closest to Nigeria than La Republique. Nigeria, however, is dirty water. La Republique is fire. Asked to choose between fire and dirty water, the answer is obvious. Besides, our citizens in Mamfe go along easily with neighbors in Nigeria than neighbors in Yaounde. Nigerians do not also like French Camerounians. We have a strategic linguistic and cultural advantage. We could as well, apply to be a member-state or an observatory member of ECOWAS for recognition and security. That would distance us from a weak ECCAS that Cameroun is part of.

5. We need to secure our international trade routes. Cash crops from Buea and Bamenda would easily be transited on Mamfe and routed to Nigeria. We feed Nigerians. We will have direct control of our borders if we secure Mamfe as our political capital. The ring road starts from Nigeria, passing through Mamfe, then Bamenda to Nkambe. We have a strategic advantage here. We shall also secure our timber resources.

6. We should set up a Defense base in Bamenda to maintain its virility. Arms can pass through Nigeria into Mamfe and then Bamenda. Let us pray that Atiku Abubakar wins the Nigeria presidential race. He is tipped in the media as a favorite, and also a former British Southern Cameroonian. Those ties could play in our favor, at least for the next eight years. We want to be as distant from La Republique as possible. The change of capital could be temporal, however, to meet up with our immediate strategic needs.

7. We want a Mamfe as political capital because our leaders could easily station a secure cabinet there. The cabinet members would easily dash in and out of Ambazonia through Nigeria if we work out this plan. We need our citizens to feel our leadership on ground zero and not on the internet. At least, Mamfe citizens have proven beyond reasonable doubt that they want our independence. In the past, Mamfe and Buea were completely CPDM strongholds. Let us give them more confidence with these strategic changes.

These are only my humble suggestions. Let there be a meeting among leaders to discuss these points.

What do you think about changing the capital of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia to a more secured and centralized county? Do you think this is the time to put this debate on the table?
