AYUK TABE & Co: Finally Presented Before The Court For The Habeas Corpus Case; Case Adjourned To


Julius AYUK TABE is the Ambazonia pro-independence leader who had on October 1, 2017, symbolically declared the independence of the Ambazonia territory, formerly known as Southern Cameroons.

While holding a cabinet meeting on January 5, 2018 at Nera Hotel, Abuja, Nigeria, H.E. Sisiku AYUK TABE Julius and his some of his cabinet members were arrested, illegally deported to Yaounde, Cameroun, where they have been held for the past 11 months incommunicado at the National Gendarmerie Headquarters (SED).

Following their illegal extradition, their defense lawyers filed a habeas corpus case for their release, and after failing to present them to the court at the last seating, they have finally been presented at the November 1, 2018 court session.

Sisiku was arrested alongside 11 others. Two from the dozen; Barrister Nalowa Bih currently in Germany and Ojong Nkongko still in Nigeria had been freed in Nigeria. In the meantime; 1) Sisiku AyukTabe Julius, 2) Nfor Ngala Nfor 3) Dr. Fidelis Nde Che 4) Dr. Henry Kimeng 5) Prof. Awasum6) Dr. Cornelius Kwanga, 7) Elias Eyambe, 8) Tassang Wilfred, 9) Dr. OGORK Ntui and 10) Shufai Blaise Berinyuy talked with their Lawyers, Wednesday October 31, 2018


Sisiku and other detainees now have White Hairs, except Tassang Wilfred. Dressed in Blue, Black and Lemon Green track suits, the dectet are currently in the Judge's Chambers in high spirits. Their Lawyers including their Lead Lawyer; Barristers Fru John Nsoh, Paddy Yong, Michele Ndoki and Hans from Barrister Ndong Christopher's office have also answered present at the Court of Appeal of Centre Region, Thursday November 1, 2018.

At least, 2,000 unarmed civilians of the English-speaking Regions have been illegally arrested and detained for either demanding a change to the form of the state or the Restoration of the statehood of the former Southern Cameroons that many now prefer Ambazonia. In addition, over 400 houses have been burnt down by the Cameroonian military as a means to slacken the resolve of the people. This has instead resulted to an alarming Humanitarian and Refugee situation with at least half of its population either internally displaced or living in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, at the time of writing this post, information from Bareta News confirmed that the case against these leaders has been adjourned to November 15, 2018.
