CRTV Anglophone Journalists Officially Insulted By Charles Ndongo (Letter Attached).

Since the episodic escalation of the anglophone crises late last year, and the criticism that most, if not all of official communications are made in French language, we have seen most of the ministries and government institutions pretentiously do their best to issue public information in both "English" and French.

On the part of the state propaganda radio television, CRTV led by Charlse Ndongo, its best of English language is what we find in the official letter attached below. The pidgin english found in the letter months after the creation of a Commission on Bilingualism is a strong public message that anglophones, especially, those working at the institution have no place.

This kind of insult only tells the world that we are two Cameroons; one whose citizens have the right to public information (francophones), and the other whose citizens do not have any right to public information (anglophones). This is very clear as the french copy of this same press release had no grammatical errors, and was well consumed.

Listen to what my class seven (7) daughter had to say when I presented the letter for her to read;

"Dady, I have read the letter, but I can not understand anything from it"

Now lets reason out together. What if my daughter wrote this examination, and her names are on the list. She wouldn't ever show up because the letter says nothing.

I remember a classmate who lost an integration examination for not showing up for orals, though he listened to a certain press release in french.

This is the usual tactics that government officials, including ministers have been using over the decades to exclude the few anglophones from taking public examinations or exclude those whose names happen to appear on the list of successful candidates.

The question that many are asking is if anglophones actually work at the state propaganda TV station.

Answer: Of course they do. They are even very intelligent once, including PhD holders. The problem here is, they are anglophones (slaves) in the master's house. They are often called up only to carry out duties that are of paramount interest to the francophones. When it comes to services of anglophones interest, you do not see these guys. The francophones "do" the job.

This is the exact same reason we are fighting. In anglophone schools, you find this type of English language, as most teachers of the French subsystem now "teach" our children. If my daughter could read this letter and fail to understand, tell me how she will read her notes with similar grammar and understand?

What aches us at the Southern Cameroons Resistance Press is that some of us (anglophones), especially the so called elites have refused to understand. They prefer to feed their large stomachs and spoil the future of our children. They know very well that in few years to come, they will not be there again to see how our children suffer.

Tassang Wilfred, Fontem Neba and Agbor Nkongho, we thank you so much for opening our eye and setting the pace. We have stood up with support from the entire civil society, including our poor parents, to fight and defend our culture. We shall not fall back until we give this full defense and guaranty of no more future threats.
