Menji, Lebialem County: CPDM MP (Forju Bernard) On The Run As Youths Invaded His Meeting With The D.

Happening right now (October 17, 2017) at the Divisional Head Quarter of Lebialem County, Menji, a no nonsense town in Southern Cameroons. Today is the town's market day, and the Market was already full with people from all works of life with business going around as it used to be. Suddenly everyone started running, some leaving back their market goods and everywhere was chaos. Guess what;

As people were busy in the market, the CPDM member of parliament, Bernard Forju, had snicked into the town and was busy holding a meeting with the Divisional Officer and some few CPDM elites. It didn't take long for the youths to get an alarm of such a meeting and immediately invaded the area to disrupt the meeting and send them packing. In their normal style, the youths invaded the area with stones and there was total pandemonium at the scene. Everybody is amazed at the speed (just few minutes) at which it took everyone in Lebialem to come out and surround the DO's office. Reports reaching me confirm that both the young and the old were all present.

The military with whom he (MP) came together with some gendarms, took the MP into the car and took off. Unfortunately, the youths had earlier blocked all the roads for no vehicle to go out of Fontem. Blockages started somewhere at Lewoh, about 20 KM from Menji. As I write they have not been able to take the MP out of the town, but currently in hiding. As the youths go in search of him, his inherited compound situated at the entrance of the town has been set on fire. Reports from the field say, the youths are bent on putting his other compound situated at the heart of the town on fire as well.

The No Nonsense Lebialem people believe 100% that after the declaration of the independence of Southern Cameroons, no colonial agent is expected to carry out any official duty on their land. They are defending their independence.

So far, one person (a guy called Karwi) has been shot on the hand, but contrary to some reports on social media, no dead has been recorded so far.

We invite you to stay tuned to this site as we bring you updates on this, especially if there are any casualties.
