In the following video, the national president of CPP, Edith Kahbang Walla, recounts the following key points related to October 1, 2017;
The government who is supposed to be in the best place to give the exact figures of those arrested and those who died is very incompetent, and lies over figures. Kah Walla condemns the government's 10-killed figure, pointing out that on October 2nd, 17 confirmed dead were recorded.
The government and those commanding the military lied that they had instructed them not to shoot at any, and that only the recalcitrant ones did. Kah Walla said it was not by coincidence that they were shootings in almost all the towns in Southern Cameroons. She said if that happened, it means someone gave the orders. The SCAR.press will like to reiterate here that, such a statement from the Commanders contradicts Issa Chirouma's declaration that those shot were prisoners and those that attacked the military with arms.
Kah Walla also said most of those in critical conditions and those shot were not given care, and mot of them are prevented access by their families and lawyers. She condemns the government strongly on this act as every person has the right to defense before the court.
The worse part of the story is that of a pregnant woman (Solah) and her husband (Frank) were arrested right from inside their house, leaving behind an 18 months old baby to the hands of the neighbors. They are currently languishing in jail as all attempt by the attorney general and political leaders have failed.
