In African Independence Is Achieved In One Of Several Ways - Ayah Paul Abine.

In January 2017, precisely on the thirteen, the Supreme Court Judge (now former), Honorable Ayah Paul Abine, wrote the following piece on his facebook timeline (titled Independence or Egopendence), certainly (my opinion), looking at the wrong track the Southern Cameroonians were on. Remember, in January 2017 no Southern Cameroons government was in existence to secure international recognition of the territory to be restored (Southern Cameroons).

Might have Southern Cameroonians fighting for the total restoration of their territory learned something from such an inspiring post from the wise one?

INDEPENDENCE OR EGOPENDENCE

In the African context, independence was achieved in several ways:-

  • Through armed struggle: Outside of civil war, there must be a neighbouring country here that provides sanctuaries for the beligerent forces at the initial stage of the armed struggle; and would guarantee the supply routes as long as need be.

  • By forming a government in exile and securing international recognition of the seceding territory as a sovereign state.

  • Through dialogue, ending up in independence. This, it is submitted, is the best way as it averts loss of human lives and property: at least for the lovers of the peaceful option.

Some Cameroonians are in the reverie of some strange kind of independence alighting like a meteor from the blues: a United Nations’ Christmas gift, perhaps! That is wholly illusory. Its closest to reality is filthy trash on the internet – more ineffectual than a brutum fulmen.

Of course yes! Independence is not a dot on the time line. Independence moves in time and in space. It must be prepared and sustained. Or else, it ends up in the gutters very like the vain declaration of English Cameroon’s independence over “Radio Buea” in the early nineties for some three hours!

Those who have ears let them hear!

ICHAN!

IS AYAH'S THOUGHT OF JANUARY, 2017, HEREABOVE ANY MORE OR LESS RELEVANT TODAY? LET'S GIVE IT A THOUGHT!

From the above Ayah's writeup, Southern Cameroonians, most of whom are on exile, including the diaspora, who have do not very well appreciate the option of taking up arms had formed a government in other to seek international recognition for the restoration of their independence.

Can we by this, say Southern Cameroonians, after taking up the this option are on the right road to independence??

They are many ways to educate or correct a child and get him on the right track.
